Friday 16th July

Morning guys, last day of home learning for you. We are very much looking forward to seeing you all back at school on Monday.

Morning Activity

To start the day off, spend 10 minutes completing pg 119 showing all your working out. After 10 minutes, use the answers to mark and correct any you have got wrong.

Today, we are ending our position unit of learning in maths. Just like we normally do after every unit, we would like you to carry out the end of unit test.

This must be done independently as we want to see what you have learnt and what we may still need to go over.

Once you have completed the unit test, please ask your parents to mark them with the answers below.

Today is usually Book Talk in our literacy lessons, but we are unable to do this due to current circumstances. What we would like you to do instead is  complete one of the year 4 reading challenges.

The reading challenge we would like you to complete is the review of a piece of art from a famous artist. In your diaries, it does say a piece of art by Wilfred Stanley Haines, although we have now  changed this to the artist L.S Lowry.

Below, you will find a range of L.S Lowry pictures. You need to choose one that you like and write a review based on that picture.

When reviewing the picture, you need to think about the following:

Why do you like the picture?

How does the artist uses colour in the picture?

What does the picture make you think of ?

is there anything you would change about the picture?

Why has the artist chosen to paint what he has?

Please make sure you are writing in full sentences and have used conjunctions to link your sentences together. In order for us to tick off your reading challenge, you will need to bring evidence of this completed into school upon our return.

Afternoon Subject

Today, we would like you to use Turtle Logo to continue to modify the codes we have been using. On the document below is the link to the Turtle Logo website, instructions on what to do and a  few codes to get you started.
