Good morning year 4! Hope you have had a good weekend and ready for another fun filled week of learning.


Morning Activity


To start the day off, spend 10 minutes completing arithmetic pg28. Remember to show your working out. After 10 minutes, use the answers to mark and correct any you have got wrong.

Today's first job is to go back to the work you completed on Friday and use the answers below to mark. Please complete any corrections for the ones you have got wrong.

Main lesson


Today, we will be using the short method for division known as the 'Bus Stop' method.


First, write the short date 18.01.21 and the title short division- Bus stop method. Use your ruler to underline both.


Next, have a look at the criteria below and complete your recap and anchor task.

Then, look through the Powerpoints below as these will explain to you how to carry out the bus stop method.

Main Activities


For all activities today, please show all working out using the standard bus stop method.


If you are in Miss Groves' or Miss Cameron's group, complete the red/orange task and if you feel confident with that them complete the green task.

If you would like to challenge yourself further then have ago at the purple task.


If you are in Mrs Bennett's group, complete the green task and then move onto the purple task. If you are unsure then you may need to go back and complete the red/orange task first.



For literacy today, we are going to finish our writing off that we started on Thursday.

Your learning objective and success criteria is the same as Thursdays.


Learning Objective - To produce a non narrative that has a clear purpose and provides the reader with relevant information.

Read the PowerPoint below for today's task. You will be writing your last paragraph of your non fiction text on Roman roads. The PowerPoint goes through how to do this, with examples of how to set your work out and what sentence types to use. Remember to have your finished plan in front of you.


Once you have finished writing, please check through for spelling mistakes, missing punctuation and make sure what you have written makes sense. 



This afternoon you will be carrying on with our science topic of sound. Look at the success criteria below and complete the activating prior knowledge task.
