Report online abuse
CEOP helps any child or young person under the age of 18 who is being pressured, forced or tricked into taking part in sexual activity of any kind. This can be something that has taken place either online or in ‘the real world’, or both. The CEOP Safety Centre has clear information and advice on what can be reported to CEOP, the reporting process and what will happen if you do decide to make a report. You can visit the CEOP Safety Centre and report directly using the link below:

The Prevent Duty
The Prevent duty is part of the Government’s wider safeguarding approach. It requires all schools to help protect children from the risk of radicalisation and extremist ideas. At Eskdale Junior school, this is treated just like any other safeguarding responsibility — keeping pupils safe, supported, and able to thrive.
What This Means in Practice
- Promoting our core values – We teach children about respect, tolerance, and understanding different viewpoints.
- Keeping pupils safe – Staff are trained to notice when a child may be vulnerable to harmful influences, including extremist ideologies, and to act early if they have concerns.
- Working within our safeguarding systems - Any concerns about radicalisation are handled through our safeguarding procedures.
- Building resilience - Through our curriculum and school values, we help children develop the confidence and skills to question and challenge unsafe or extreme ideas
How can you help?
It is important that we all work together, so that we can protect our communities. There are many ways you can help:
- You can get in touch with your local neighbourhood or Prevent team for advice and support, if you are worried about someone you know who you believe may be vulnerable to radicalisation.
- You can speak to your local officers or Prevent contact about helping run community events to bring people from different communities together.
- You can provide facilities that could help us and our partners hold community engagement events.
Safeguarding Policies
Our key safeguarding documents include:
- Safeguarding & Child Protection Policy
- Online Safety Policy
- Anti‑Bullying Policy
- Behaviour Policy
- Attendance Policy
- Prevent Duty Statement
Paper copies of these can be provided on request.
Visitors & Volunteers
All visitors must:
- Sign in at reception
- Wear a visitor badge
- Follow our safeguarding procedures
- Never be alone with a child unless authorised
Working with Families
We believe strong relationships with families help keep children safe. We work in partnership with parents to:
- Share concerns early
- Provide support and guidance
- Signpost to external services
