The School Day

School Day Structure  

 

8:45am: The gate at Ghost House Lane is opened by Mr Norman our caretaker and Mr Scruton (Head teacher) and Mr Norman greet pupils and parents as they enter the school site.

 

8:54am: A bell rings, letting pupils know to line up outside their classrooms.

 

8:55am: A second bell will ring to let pupils know they must be quiet before entering the classrooms, greeted by their class teacher or teaching assistant.

 

9am: Mr Norman closes and locks the school gate.

 

9am: Pupils are registered in class by their class teachers

 

9/9:10am: The first session of the day begins (this is usually literacy or numeracy)

 

10:10am: Assembly in the hall (Wednesday is a singing assembly with Ms Howes our Music teacher)

 

10:30am: A bell rings for break time.

 

10:44am: The bell rings for the end of break and pupils line up outside their classroom.

 

10:45am: A second bell will ring to let pupils know they must be quiet before entering the classrooms, greeted by their class teacher or teaching assistant.

 

10:45am: The second session of the day begins (this is usually literacy or numeracy)

 

12:00pm: Lunch.

 

12:30pm: Lunchtime clubs begin.

 

12:59pm: The bell rings for the end of lunch and pupils line up outside their classrooms.

 

1:00pm: A second bell will ring to let pupils know they must be quiet before entering the classrooms, greeted by their class teacher.

 

1:00pm: The afternoon session begins (structure of afternoon lessons can vary)

 

2:15pm: A bell rings for break time.

 

2:24pm: The bell rings for the end of break and pupils line up outside their classrooms.

 

2:25pm: A second bell will ring to let pupils know they must be quiet before entering the classrooms, greeted by their class teacher.

 

2:25pm: Start of the second part of the afternoon session.

 

3:20pm: End of the school day.
