Good morning year 4! We hope you are ready for another fun filled day of learning.
To start the day off, spend 10 minutes completing arithmetic pg 24 remembering to show your working out. After 10 minutes, use the answers to mark and correct any you may have got wrong.
Today's first job is to go back to the work you completed on Monday and use the answers below to mark. Please complete any corrections for the ones you may have got wrong.
Today, we will be using the standard written method to answer multiplication questions.
First, write the short date 12.01.21 and the title Standard written methods and use your ruler to underline both.
Next, have a look at the criteria below and complete your recap and anchor task. These will need to be completed in your books.
If you are in Miss Groves' or Miss Cameron's group, complete the orange task and if you feel confident with that then complete the green task.
If you would like to challenge yourself further then have ago at the purple task.
If you are in Mrs Bennett's group, complete the first 4 questions on the orange task and then complete the green task. When you have finished move onto the purple task.

Below is our success criteria for this lesson. This will last us for two weeks. The success criteria highlighted blue is the one that we are working on today. We will cover the remaining 2 next week.
WALT - To generate innovative ideas, considering appeal, function and purpose of the object.
This term you are going to be designing and making your own aqueduct. Before you plan your design next week you need to have a go at some of the skills you will need. (As with the sewing last term, this will help inform you about which skills you found easier and which you want to use in your own design.)
Watch the video clip below. This goes through 11 ways to cut and connect card. You will need some pieces of card, scissors, tape or glue to help you.
Once you’ve watched the clip have a go at trying at least 3 of the methods yourself. You can try more if you want to. On the video the demonstrator uses a penknife. YOU MUST USE SCISSORS.
PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT THERE IS AN ADULT NEAR BY WHEN YOU ARE COMPLETING THIS TASK.
FIND A FLAT SURFACE TO WORK ON. PLACE A PROTECTIVE COVER OVER THE SURFACE YOU ARE WORKING ON SO THAT YOU DON’T DAMAGE THE SURFACE BELOW.
