Good morning year 4! Here is a joke to start your day.
What do you give a sick lemon?
To start the day off, spend 10 minutes completing arithmetic pg 39 remembering to show your working out. After 10 minutes, use the answers to mark and correct any you have got wrong.
Today's first job (if you did not use the answers yesterday) is to go back to the mini assessments from yesterday and mark it. Please then send your scores on an email to the year 4 email address.
Today, we will be looking at unit and non unit fractions.
First, write the shot date 02.02.21 and the title Unit and non unit fractions. Use your ruler to underline both.
Next, have a look at the criteria below and complete your recap and anchor task. These will need to be completed in your books.
Recap and anchor task answers
If you are in Miss Groves' or Miss Cameron's group, complete the orange tasks and if you feel confident with that then complete the green task.
If you would like to challenge yourself further then have ago at the purple task.
If you are in Mrs Bennett's group, complete the green task and when you have finished move onto the purple task. If you are unsure then you may need to go back and complete the orange tasks first.
For literacy today, we are going to start to think about our own sound collector and who they might be.
First, write the long date Tuesday 2nd February 2021 and the title My sound collector. Use your ruler to underline both.
Next, have a look at the criteria below and complete your Recap.
For today's learning, you will need to open the Powerpoint below and follow the instructions on the slides. Where it asks you to think about things or questions, please write some ideas down in your books as these maybe useful during the next few weeks when creating your own poem.
You will be creating two of your own strangers in this lesson that you may want to use in your final poem, so make sure they are detailed.
Today you will be finishing your aqueducts. As this is carrying on from last week, we have kept the same success criteria;
To select appropriate tools and techniques for making their product
• I can measure, mark out, cut and shape a range of materials, using appropriate tools, equipment and techniques with increasing independence.
• I can join and combine materials and components accurately in temporary and permanent ways
• I can think about my ideas as I make progress and be willing to change them if this helps to improve my work
• I can use finishing techniques to strengthen and improve the appearance of my product using a range of equipment.
• To apply their understanding of how to strengthen, stiffen and reinforce simple structures with increasing independence.
Remember to make your aqueduct on a flat, safe surface and ask an adult if you need help.
We would like to see pictures of your aqueduct when they are finished so please can you email them in to the Year 4 email address. We look forward to seeing them.
