Tuesday 12th October

Happy Tuesday everyone!

Joke of the Day -

Q) Why do bees have sticky hair?

A/ Because they use honey combs!

Today in Year 4 we have lots of exciting challenges to take on throughout today's learning! In Literacy we will be looking at our independent writes to start some editing, in Numeracy we will be continuing with our subtraction by looking at subtracting two 4 digit numbers and in Spanish we will be continuing to look at items within our classroom.

In Literacy today, I'd like you to read through your independent write and be ready to use your checklist (attached at the bottom) to underline the key features you have managed to include within your writing, make sure to pick a different colour for each so you can see what you've included. If there are any aspects you have not managed to fit in to your writing have a go at adding these today.

Once this is complete, please use the spellings sheet below to create a list of definitions for each word.  As a challenge, create sentences with your spelling words in, why not try and see if you can fit more than one into a sentence.

In Maths today we are continuing with our subtraction by working on subtracting two 4 digit numbers (with no exchange).

Please watch the video below and follow the attached slides to get a firm understanding of the concept and what the White Rose sheets will be asking you to do.

After you feel confident with what you have learnt, you can start on the White Rose sheets. Work your way through each sheet, if you need to, you can refer back to slides or video at any time.

Once those sheets are completed, if you feel like challenging yourself on the mastery sheets attached below.
