Tuesday 23rd February

Morning task

Below are your new spellings for this week. Practise them each day using look, cover, write, check and get someone at home to test you on them at the end of the week.

For your morning task, have a go at the spelling sheet where you need to complete the words by adding the endings.

Put the title Area of a triangle in your book.

For each stage today, there is a video to watch, followed by the tasks. If you find the first section very easy after 2 questions, mark your work and move on to the next video, as long as you have no corrections.

You should aim to work for about an hour on your maths. You do not need to complete all the questions if they take too long or get too hard. The videos are very good, so watch bits again if you need to.

(If you don't have squared paper, leave the drawing questions and move on.)

In literacy lessons for the next few weeks, we are going to be reading and writing biographies about inventors.

Today, we will be looking up definitions of words that we don't yet know. Read the biography about Alexander Graham Bell and use a dictionary (book or online) to look up the definitions of the words highlighted in yellow. Write them down in your book as you will need them to refer to later on in the week.

This half term we will be studying the artist Lowry. This art work will link with our topic on 'Industrialisation'. Watch the videos below, go through the information powerpoint and document and follow the slides.

Look at the example below for what we are looking for by the end of the lesson.
