Wednesday 10th February

Good morning lovely Year 3s!

We hope you all have a great day!

Start this morning with the next arithmetic page.

This morning we are continuing to practice our money skills.

Start by going through this Powerpoint about worded problems. Pay particular attention to the tips given for solving worded problems.

Now have a go at some more worded problems. There are 3 sheets, decide which sheet or sheets you want to complete; the 1 star sheet is a good place to start, the 2 star and 3 star sheets are for those that are feeling confident or who want to aim high and challenge themselves. You need to do at least 1 sheet but you can do more if you want.

Finally, here are some games you can practice with. (You could save some of the games we have shared with you this week and play on them at other times)

Start today's lesson by completing the next sheet for either your word detectives or spelling work.

Today you will be recapping what a recipe and how it is written in preparation for writing your very own.

First have a look at the success criteria and see how much you can remember about the way a recipe is structured and the type of vocabulary used.

Right, let's start with looking at the way a recipe is set out. Watch the videos below to remind you.

Let's have a go together!

Now it is your turn! Look at the recipe and then annotate it using the instruction sheet.

So, now we have studied how recipes are organised under subheadings, we need to look at the special sort of language used.

Below is an example of a recipe that you will need to annotate. Below that is the set of instuctions that will guide you to what you need to find.

Click on the either of the links below to find the activity to complete

Now that you are more familiar with how recipes are structured and written, you will be ready to begin to write your very own tomorrow.

Spend at least 10 minutes reading to start your afternoon.

Today is our last PE lesson before half term. If you didn't get chance to finish the street dance lesson then you can carry on with that.

Otherwise, as it's the last week, we thought we'd have a bit of extra fun this afternoon and let you choose a dance to learn. These dance lessons go through dances step-by-step and are led by Oti Mabuse from Strictly Come Dancing!

There are 4 dances to choose from:

The Greatest Showman

Lion King

You can watch them first to decide which one you'd like to try (skip towards the end to preview the finished dance)

Just like with the dances from the previous weeks you can break the dances into smaller parts by pausing and replaying the video (go at a pace you are comfortable with).
