Good Morning Year 3!

Well done on all your hard work so far, keep it up!



Start this morning by reading for 10 minutes then do the next arithmetic sheet. This week we want you to challenge yourselves further by trying to complete the sheet in under 10 mins!


Look out for the answers tomorrow.



Today is our final lesson on dividing with larger numbers. We will be learning some more methods today for you to be able to use! Follow the teaching slides and watch the video when prompted.

Start today's lesson by completing the next sheet for either your word detectives or spelling work. If anyone is still unsure about this then please contact school or email year 3.

Before you begin the main part of today's lesson, mark your recap from yesterday and have a go at the recap activity. 


These are only some suggestions, you may well have many more brilliant ideas.

The first part of the lesson today you will be completing the magpie activity for the final part of the text. As before, collect sentence starters, vocabulary and synonyms for said.


The second part of the lesson is about reported or indirect speech. This will help you when we write our story. Read the slides first and then have a go at the questions on the activity sheet.


Please spend 10 minutes reading and 10 minutes on TTRS before your afternoon lesson. 



We are carrying on with dance lessons today. This week we are starting a street dance! This dance has 3 parts so we will be doing this dance this week and next week. So if you don't get to the end this week you will have chance next week to finish off. 


Before we start any exercise we need to warm up so follow the video below first.

Dances can be learnt directly from the videos. It's up to you how you use them but we suggest the following:


  1. Watch the FULL DANCE video to get an idea of the whole dance from start to finish.
  2. Learn the first part of the dance using the PART 1 Video. Use pause and play on the video to control the speed of your learning.
  3. Once you are confident with PART 1, repeat the process with PART 2 and PART 3.
  4. If you are stuck on a particular area, the VOICED INSTRUCTIONS videos will slow the dance down and the coach on screen will talk you through the steps.
  5. When you have learnt all the parts, try and put the whole dance together.
  6. Do the dance all the way through a few times. When you think you know it, you could perform it to someone at home when they aren't busy.
