We have been tackling maths investigations about fractions and ratios by thinking big! All of working out was done on big pieces of paper as we joined together to work through a number of problems, all to do with baking cakes! Excellent maths skills were involved as well as great collaboration and team work.
Chinese New Year
As part of our China topic, we celebrated Chinese New Year by getting crafty! We made dragons, lanterns and fortune tellers to help us look forward to the year ahead. We also enjoyed a nibble on a fortune cookie! Gung hay fat choy everyone!
Day of European Languages
As part of the Day of European Languages we began talking about Spain to day. The children worked together to think about what they already know about Spain, then did some work on family vocabulary.
Around the World in Eighty Days
We have been reading about Philleas Fogg's adventures and using this and the basis for our writing. We have also been looking at maps of the UK and the rest of the world as part of this topic.
In our Book Talk sessions we have been reading Around the World in 80 Days, Asha and the Spirit Bird, Sky Chaser and The Lost World.
