In Year 6, you will have the opportunity to earn credits and each term these will contribute to the awarding of Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards.
You will be able to earn either a Bronze, Silver or Gold award each term. The more credits you earn, the more chance you will receive of earning a higher award.
At the end of the year, the very special Triple Gold Award will be given to any children who earn 3 Gold Awards throughout the year. This is the highest honour in Eskdale!
You will be expected to read for at least 20 minutes 3 times a week This should be recorded in the Reading Record section of your diary.
Your Reading Record will be checked weekly. Credits will be given to children who provide sufficient evidence of reading.
Maths and English Homework
Each week, you will also receive Maths, English and Spelling homework. Homework should be completed on the sheet and brought to school. English homework may take the form of writing, comprehension or a grammar task. All homework should be presented to the same standard as would be expected in school (using pencil and a ruler).
Other topic homework tasks may also be set periodically.
Maths and Literacy/topic will be set on Friday and due in on the following Thursday.
Every week, you will be given a list of spellings to learn which will follow a spelling rule. Spelling homework will be set on Monday and must be returned on the Friday of that week ready for the spelling test. If this is not returned by Friday, you will be expected to complete the homework at playtime before taking the test.
PE kits should be in school at all times as our PE days change regularly.
